Natural Occurrences Sometimes referred to as tussocks, floatons, or suds, natural floating islands are composed of vegetation growing on a buoyant mat of plant roots or other organic detritus. Some cenotes in northern Mexico have natural floating islands.

Uros Islands, located on Lake Titicaca in Peru, are man-made islands constructed entirely of floating reeds called 'totora'. The Uros people have been living on these islands for centuries now!

A floating island is a mass of floating aquatic plants, mud, and peat ranging in thickness from several centimeters to a few meters. In Peru, the man made floating islands and the existence of life on those group of islands. It's called Uros and is one of the many islands in Lake Titicaca.

Without unobtainium, or zonai magic, that's not really possible. It's a nice idea for science fiction, but the laws of physics apply universally & sky islands still need to obey the laws of gravity & thus would not exist.
